You have been systematically deprived of the most important elements of an American education.

In 1962, The United States Supreme Court made one of the most important decisions regarding education in the history of the United States (Engel v. Vitale, 370 US 421 at 443). All nine Justices on the Court knew what Justice Douglas knew, as he wrote in footnote 9 of his opinion:

Religion was once deemed to be a function of the public school system. The Northwest Ordinance, which antedated the First Amendment, provided in Article III that
Religion, morality, and knowledge being necessary to good government and the happiness of mankind, schools and the means of education shall forever be encouraged.

Despite knowing the original intent of America's Founding Fathers and founding educators, the Supreme Court proceeded to remove the Christian religion and Christian morality from government-run schools.

It is impossible to teach "knowledge" (reading, writing, arithmetic, etc.) without teaching religion and morality.

If you have a classroom with 30 would-be gods, each one believing they have the right to define their own morality, none of them believing they have a moral duty to respect the learning environment of other students, and certainly no duty to honor the authority of the teacher, you no longer have a classroom, you have chaos.

Every single person who signed the Declaration of Independence and Constitution, were they to walk into any public school classroom in 2010, would immediately conclude that America's public schools are in a state of chaos.

A chaos of morals, a chaos of character, and a chaos of academic learning.

America's test scores bear this out.

Escalating crime rates among school-aged children also bear this out.
